BAKERS

We cater to a range of bakers across North America, from hungry novices to award-winning chefs. Our story began with the baker. The year was 2008, and the price of wheat had just hit the roof. At its worst, the price of wheat rose as much as 130% and the price of flour rose beyond what could be passed along to the customer. It became all too apparent how disconnected we all were from this essential ingredient. And so the North Carolina Organic Bread Flour Project (eventually Carolina Ground) was born, with the goal of closing the gap between the farmer and baker in the Carolinas.

We’ve compiled a non-exhaustive list of our baker friends. Give them some love and check out all the amazing things they’re doing with our flour!

FARMERS

Most of our grain is grown in North Carolina, on large-scale organic farms, but we also source from growers in the surrounding Southern states. We've cultivated relationships with a pool of growers—from the far eastern section of NC, to the Sandhills, and Western Piedmont, as well as outside of NC in Georgia, Virginia, and the North East—to ensure we can secure a quality crop from year to year.

We are proud to be currently working with: Carter Farms (Eagle Springs, NC), Horton Farms (Bunn, NC), Barham Farms (Wake Forest, NC), and Hilltop Farms (Dayton, VA).
